Where Friends Become Family
Hello EASC members,
As we gather at the center we need to remain diligent in our safety protocols such as washing hands and surfaces regularly to keep our community healthy and our center open.
At this time, masks are optional when at the center and are available at the sign-in table if desired. Thank you for your support and understanding.
It is the mission of the Essex Area Senior Center to be a friendly gathering place for people 50 years of age and older. Programs are provided to promote physical, intellectual, and social well-being while enhancing dignity, self-worth, and independence.
The Essex Area Senior Center is overseen by Program Director of Senior Services, Nicole Mone-St. Marthe from the Essex Parks and Recreation Department. Nicole also oversees 55+ programming throughout the Essex community and the Essex Senior Van Services.
Hello EASC friends!
The Essex Area Senior Center will be going through a staffing transition as the Town Parks & Recreation staff will no longer program and staff the designated space at 2 Lincoln Street.
The Town and City municipalities signed a Shared Service Agreement in July of 2022 that outlined the transitional timeline of current programs, facilities, and staff that would take place due to the separation of the two municipalities.
The Town Parks & Recreation staff that has been overseeing the Essex Area Senior Center since 2014 will no longer staff the dedicated space at 2 Lincoln Street, a City-owned and managed property, as of December 31, 2023. The Town will continue to provide programs and activities devoted to the 55+ community (in and outside of the Town residency) at locations throughout the Town of Essex.
For additional information or questions regarding the space at 2 Lincoln Street, please contact the City of Essex Junction and/or Essex Junction Recreation & Parks at 878-1375.
