At the EASC, we take great pride in offering quality programming that not only entertains, but also provides opportunities for our membership to learn and explore new activities. Weekly programming includes, Bingo, Bridge, Briscola, Knitting, Seated Yoga, Mah Jongg, and Cribbage. Monthly meetings of our Book Club, Origami Group, Weaving Club, Paint and Sip, and New Canasta are also great options. In addition to reoccurring programming, we offer special programs each month ranging from healthcare workshops such as OT hand-strengthing, Tax prep for seniors, and Technology workshops focused on learning to use smartphones and tablets.
We hope that you will feel free to join us for one of our exciting programs or offer up a suggestion of a program you'd like to see at the EASC.
Luncheons are always a fun event at the EASC. We hold weekly luncheons that provide an opportunity for a low cost meal to members and non-members. Twice a month, luncheons are head onsite at the center. We are fortunate to run a soup and sandwich program the first week of each month. Soup is provided from the Culinary program CTE at Essex High School. Sandwiches and cake are donated from area churches. The second Wednesday of the month, we schedule an outing to an area restaurant and enjoy a wonderful tailored for our group. The third Wednesday of the month we visit Essex Middle School where students and staff serve us lunch. This is a great multi-generational experience for all. The forth Wednesday of each month we hold a pizza party at the center, complete with entertainment. Should there be a fifth Wednesday in the month, we will hold a Pot Luck and enjoy one another's company. Come hungry and leave with your belly and heart full.
The EASC is a great place to get answers to any questions or needs you may have. We offer an onsite food pantry that is accessible at all times. No pre-registration is required, just come and take what you need.
Center staff is also a wealth of knowledge regarding area resources. If you have a question, we will find you an answer. Stop in anytime to see Nicole or Sammy if you are in need of assistance.
